Head down to the port and appreciate the brilliant boats and sublime superyachts on show. Take a gentle stroll hand in hand with your loved one along the port, before settling in one of numerous charming cafés just behind the marvellous Hôtel de Ville. Enjoy a selection of French café delicacies such as cannelés, macarons and your classic croissant and coffee.

2. Rue d’Antibes

Sometimes we just don’t quite find the perfect present… so why not treat your love to a splurge on the famous Rue d’Antibes, which encompasses the world of fashion: abundant with boutiques and the biggest designer fashion brands, shop ‘til you drop on this astonishing stretch of shopping paradise. Shopping together is great fun and also cunningly gives you ideas for next year!

3. Walk the Croisette

Take a walk down the beautiful Promenade de la Croisette, where you will see the beachfront luxury hotels towering high above the palm trees that split the road in two. Listen to the ocean as the waves kiss the sandy shoreline. Feel the gentle sea breeze across your face as you saunter down the promenade as the sun beams down, arm in arm with your valentine. Grab a quick sandwich at a beach food stall, or descend onto the beach for a full lunch in one of the beachfront restaurants. Relax at the beach in the afternoon or discover the Palais des Festival a few minutes away.

4. Sunset at l’Église Notre Dame d’Espérance

Proceed to l’Église Notre Dame d’Espérance atop of Cannes, and climb the outdoor staircase to catch the most spellbinding sunset that falls behind the mountains to the west. Away from the hustle and bustle of the town, take a seat beside your loved one and sit in bliss as you observe the beauty of Cannes: the tranquillity of your surroundings offers time to share a romantic moment with your partner. If you arrive before sundown, take a quick peek through the adjacent Musée de la Castre.

5. Restaurants and bars in Le Suquet

Cascade down into the Old Town to find the nearby Le Suquet, where you can take your pick from many of the lovely restaurants that line the narrow streets: take a seat, relax and enjoy the ambience of the restaurant over a candle lit dinner. Following dessert, go for a couple of cocktails in the elegant surrounding bars, where you can have a romantic midnight dance.

Finally, head for home with your love, where the rest is up to you.
